• Duration: 2-month temporary role initially
• Salary: 16.92 per hour plus 2.04 per hour holiday pay (equivalent to 33000 FTE)
• Location: On-site located in South-East London
• Working Pattern: Full-time or part-time flexible working arrangements considered
• Start Date: August 2026
• DBS: Enhanced DBS required

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with a leading London homelessness day service to recruit a Temporary Health Coordinator.

This is an opportunity to join a respected community-based organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness poverty addiction and mental health challenges.

The organisation provides practical frontline support alongside longer-term interventions that help people access housing healthcare and life-changing services.

About the Role

This is a highly rewarding frontline position supporting individuals who may be experiencing homelessness rough sleeping housing insecurity substance misuse or mental health challenges.

Working as part of a small dedicated team you will provide assessment triage and casework support helping people access the services and resources they need to improve their circumstances and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and support planning with service users
• Provide person-centred casework and advocacy support
• Connect individuals with healthcare housing and specialist services
• Support homelessness prevention initiatives
• Maintain accurate case records and outcome tracking
• Build effective partnerships with external agencies
• Contribute to safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
• Work collaboratively with volunteers and colleagues

About You

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults
• Experience with in homelessness housing community health outreach substance misuse or related services
• Strong assessment and case management skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Experience using case management or CRM systems
• Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches
• The ability to work independently and flexibly within a fast-paced environment

Youll Particularly Stand Out If You Have

• Experience of homelessness prevention work
• Knowledge of local housing pathways
• Experience of harm reduction approaches
• Experience working alongside volunteers
• Understanding of mental health and addiction support services
