Advice & Wellbeing Coordinator

Purpose of the Role

• To coordinate and develop student advice and wellbeing activity, ensuring students can access high-quality, independent and confidential support throughout their student experience.
• To support students to navigate academic, housing, wellbeing and personal challenges, empowering them to make informed decisions and access appropriate support.
• To work closely with Sabbatical Officers to identify priorities, champion student concerns and deliver meaningful student-led change.

• Coordinate the delivery and ongoing development of the Students' Union's independent Advice & Wellbeing Service, with a particular focus on students studying at Bath Spa University London and partner providers.
• Provide high-quality, confidential and impartial advice and guidance to students through appointments, email correspondence and other appropriate channels.
• Support students with a range of issues including academic matters, academic appeals, academic misconduct, student complaints, disciplinary procedures, housing matters, wellbeing concerns and sexual health enquiries.
• Support students to understand University regulations, policies and procedures, enabling them to make informed decisions and effectively advocate for themselves.
• Liaise with relevant academic and professional services staff, particularly within Bath Spa University London and partner providers, maintaining effective working relationships and an up-to-date knowledge of University policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate, confidential and compliant case records in line with organisational procedures, service standards and data protection requirements.
• Work within agreed service boundaries, referring and signposting students to specialist internal and external services where appropriate. can access effective support and that student issues are heard, valued and considered within decision-making processes.
• To be a proactive member of the Students' Union Representation and Partnerships Team, delivering impactful support, engagement and wellbeing activity whilst evidencing the outcomes and impact of the Advice & Wellbeing Service.

• Coordinate and deliver wellbeing campaigns, projects and initiatives that promote student wellbeing, safety, belonging and success.
• Support activity relating to housing, sexual health, student safety, sexual harassment prevention and substance harm reduction.
• Work collaboratively with Students' Union and University colleagues to promote awareness of support services and encourage early intervention.
• Identify emerging wellbeing issues affecting students and contribute to the development of appropriate responses, campaigns and support initiatives.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant support services and referral pathways to ensure students can access appropriate assistance.

• Work closely with Sabbatical Officers to identify priorities, gather student insight and support the delivery of organisational objectives.
• Support Officers in engaging with students, student leaders and University stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of briefings, reports and evidence to support student advocacy, representation and decision-making.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with University colleagues, partner providers and external organisations to support positive student outcomes.
• Represent the Students' Union professionally within meetings, working groups and collaborative projects as required.

• Gather and analyse student feedback, casework themes and service data to identify emerging issues affecting students.
• Produce reports, briefings and updates that demonstrate the outcomes, effectiveness and impact of the Advice & Wellbeing Service.
• Use casework trends and student insight to inform Students' Union campaigns, representation priorities and service development activities.
• Monitor service activity and maintain accurate records to support reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Advice & Wellbeing Service through evaluation, feedback and awareness of sector best practice.
