Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Team Manager to oversee operations across the Children's First Contact Service (CFCS) and the Family Help Locality Team. Positioned within People Services, this role is key to ensuring that children and families in the local community receive high-quality early contact assessments, timely interventions, and robust family support and care planning.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Management:
Lead day-to-day operations across the CFCS and Family Help Locality Team, ensuring efficient workflow, duty cover, and effective case management. - Team Leadership & Supervision:
Manage, supervise, and support social workers and support staff, ensuring practice standards meet statutory requirements and council guidelines. - Service Delivery & Assessment:
Ensure high-quality intake, triage, and multi-agency assessments to determine appropriate levels of support or safeguard vulnerable children. - Care Planning:
Oversee the implementation of targeted family support and early help care plans to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. - Compliance & Performance:
Maintain accurate record-keeping, monitor KPIs, and ensure strict compliance with safeguarding procedures and Social Work England standards. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Build and maintain clear working relationships with internal teams, external agencies, schools, health partners, and police services.
- Professional Registration:
Active registration with Social Work England (Essential). - Qualifications:
Recognized Social Work Qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with proven professional documentation. - Background Check:
Clear Enhanced DBS disclosure. - Eligibility & Vetting:
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
- Complete 5-year reference/work history.
- Signed Confidentiality Agreement & Criminal Convictions Declaration.
- Proof of Address and Declaration of Interest
