We're recruiting an experienced Inquiries & Decisions Officer to join the Housing Needs service of a North London local authority on an initial 6-month contract.

You'll need to balance strong technical knowledge with a responsive and empathetic approach, ensuring residents remain at the heart of the service.
Working through a trauma-informed lens, you'll engage with residents who may be experiencing complex and challenging circumstances and ensure appropriate safeguarding considerations are incorporated into your casework.
You'll have:- Strong experience of homelessness assessments, enquiries and decision-making within a local authority setting.
- Detailed working knowledge of relevant homelessness and housing legislation.
- Experience producing high-quality, legally robust homelessness decision letters.
- Strong case management, investigation and evidence-assessment skills.
- Experience working sensitively with vulnerable residents and complex cases.
- A sound understanding of adult and child safeguarding responsibilities.
