Job Description5 months contract with a local authority
Summary- The Youth Justice Practitioner plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive assessment, intervention, and support services to children and young people at risk of offending or already involved in the youth justice system. This position is pivotal in reducing reoffending rates, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, promoting positive life outcomes, and ensuring adherence to statutory youth justice obligations. The role is a 5-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £34.40 per hour under an umbrella arrangement.
- Conduct thorough assessments of children and young people using established youth justice frameworks and tools.
- Develop and implement personalized intervention plans focused on achieving specific outcomes.
- Deliver targeted interventions aimed at reducing offending behavior and enhancing life prospects.
- Manage cases involving various legal and custodial arrangements, including pre-court interventions and court orders.
- Monitor and review progress to ensure that intervention objectives are met.
- At least 2 years of experience working directly with children, young people, and families in youth justice, social care, probation, or similar settings.
- Proven experience in managing complex cases involving vulnerable children and young people.
- Skilled in preparing assessments, reports, and intervention plans.
- Experience in working within multi-agency partnerships and collaborative environments.
- Proficiency in delivering evidence-based interventions and support programs.
- A degree-level qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Probation Studies, Criminal Justice, Community Justice, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Enhanced DBS clearance or a willingness to obtain one.
