Senior Social Worker (Locum) – Community Adult Social Care
Location:
Civic Centre, Uxbridge, London Borough of Hillingdon
We are seeking an experienced Locum Senior Social Worker to join our Community Adult Social Work Team. The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload of adults, including older people and individuals with physical disabilities, undertaking a range of statutory duties and supporting high-quality practice across the service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a complex caseload within a community adult social work setting.
- Undertake Care Act Assessments, reviews and support planning.
- Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decision-making.
- Lead and contribute to Adult Safeguarding enquiries, including Section 42 investigations.
- Undertake Section 117 reviews and contribute to multi‑agency planning.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, providers, families and partner agencies.
- Promote independence, strengths‑based practice and positive outcomes for residents.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues where required.
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience within Adult Social Care.
- Sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience of managing complex cases and making defensible decisions.
- Strong assessment, risk management and care planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Experience supervising or mentoring social work staff.
- Practice Educator qualification (PE1 or PE2).
- Experience of community‑based adult social work, hospital discharge and safeguarding services.
