At Break we invest in the future of our staff just as we do for the young people in our services. We strive to provide the highest quality of care, so whether you’re just starting your career in children’s social care or are already qualified, you’ll be supported, recognised and rewarded for your essential part in our vital work.
About the roleWe are seeking experienced residential childcare professional to make a real, lasting impact on a 12 – 18 month maternity cover contract within one of our disability services based in King’s Lynn.
For some young people, the behaviours caused by the trauma they have experienced means they need additional support. Every milestone in our disability services is celebrated and treasured. We can’t promise every day will be easy, but we can promise the sense of pride you’ll feel for the young people you support and care for.
Our children’s homes are more than just a place to stay—they are warm, welcoming environments where children and young people who for various reasons, cannot live with their own families can feel safe, cared for, and valued.
About youAs a Children’s support worker, no two days are the same and you will be instrumental in creating a nurturing and supportive environment where young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes.
You will encourage new experiences and support young people to develop their own identity, confidence, and independence, along with the help and guidance of your colleagues and Break’s therapeutic services.
Day to day you may find yourself planning and taking part in trips and activities alongside learning new skills to help young people overcome communication difficulties.
This role may occasionally involve a physical element helping young people in and out of wheelchairs and using hoists.
You will need to successfully complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within the first 24 months of support work
- This will be fully funded by Break and you will be supported by our training team.
* Please note that you must have a full, valid, manual driving licence.
The basic annual salary range for this role is £25,174 - £25,585. If your application is successful, your job offer will be based on these amounts.
