Young People Support Worker

Are you looking for a career where every day brings the opportunity to change someone's life for the better?

We are seeking passionate Support Workers to join a new North London service, with opportunities at both Support Worker and Senior Support Worker level. In addition, we have open vacancies in other locations in London.

About the role

Be part of a new service from the beginning and help create a supportive environment where young people can build brighter futures.

Depaul UK is opening a new service in North London and recruiting a team of Young People Support Workers and Senior Young People Support Workers. Whether you want to build on your support work experience or take the next step into a senior role, this is an opportunity to join a new team and make a lasting difference.

You will provide person-centred support to young people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity and other challenges. Depending on the service and role, you may support care leavers, unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, and people with mental health, substance misuse or complex support needs.

Key responsibilities include
  • Building positive, trusted relationships with young people.
  • Managing a caseload and developing tailored support plans.
  • Assessing individual strengths, needs and risks.
  • Helping young people build confidence, make informed choices and develop independent living skills.
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to help people access appropriate support.
  • Supporting young people to overcome barriers and progress towards their goals.

No two days will be the same, but your focus will remain on helping each person move towards greater independence.

About you

You will bring compassion, resilience and a commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.

You will be able to build relationships with people from different backgrounds, respond calmly to challenging situations and work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.

You will understand the importance of person-centred support, recognising each young person's experiences, strengths and aspirations.

Opportunities are available for experienced support professionals and those ready to progress into a senior support worker position. Please explain the relevant skills and experience you would bring and indicate which role you are applying for.

Please note that these vacancies are currently based within our North London services. However, we're always keen to hear from talented people who share our values. If North London isn't the right location for you, we still encourage you to apply. Simply tell us your preferred location within your application or supporting statement, and we'll explore opportunities across Depaul UK that may be a better match.

Do you have the passion, resilience, and determination to support people facing some of life's toughest challenges? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

What You’ll Receive
  • Tailored training and development
  • Flexible working options where suitable
  • 26 days annual leave, rising with service
  • Family-friendly leave policies
  • Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 7%
  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP access
  • Discounts across retail, travel, food, fitness and more
  • Cash health plan for you and your family
  • Death-in-service benefit

Safer Recruitment

Depaul UK is committed to fair and inclusive recruitment, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. If a role requires it under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, we will carry out the appropriate Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. We only look at information that is relevant to the role, and a criminal record will never be treated as an automatic barrier to employment.

All DBS information is handled sensitively, confidentially and in line with the DBS Code of Practice, and we encourage applicants to discuss any concerns with us openly.
