Lead Software Engineer, React Native

Location: Greater London
** Role purpose
** In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Principal Engineer and the Mobile Apps team members. While this is primarily an engineering role, we are always looking for developers who have a keen eye for product and who can contribute to the development of features at a product level before they are implemented. Work with Product and Design to refine requirements, contribute to planning, and identify risks early.

Break down complex tasks into clear, manageable deliverables for the team. Mentor and support engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and confidence. Help foster a healthy engineering culture based on learning, knowledge sharing, and accountability. Knowledge of best practices in security, performance and accessibility
** Skills, knowledge, and experience:
** 8+ years of software development experience5+ years of professional experience in React Native Strong proficiency with Type Script, React Native (or Expo), and mobile development patterns.

Strong communication skills — able to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and designers.

Experience with native modules and bridging in React Native Familiarity with state management libraries (Zustand, Redux, MobX etc.)Experience with the testing pyramid and tools such as Vitest, Jest, React Native Testing Library, Maestro, Detox

Experience with iOS (Objective-C, Swift) or Android (Java, Kotlin) native development.

Experience with mobile release processes for the App Store and Play Store.

Experience with performance optimisation and profiling in React Native. Familiarity with analytics and crash reporting tools.

Experience building internationalised mobile applications

Experience developing white-label applications
