Back End Engineer

Thought Machine is looking for a Back End Engineer to join our engineering team. The role is focused on developing scalable microservices for our Vault product, playing a key part in the delivery of modern banking technology.

• Design, implement and develop scalable, performant microservices using best practices.
• Write automated unit and integration tests, ensuring code is production ready.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to add features in a structured and coherent way.
• Manage and debug deployments from testing environments to production.
• Translate customer requirements into trackable tickets.

• Experience with Python or Golang.
• Experience developing automated tests as part of the development cycle.
• Interest in working on client‑facing projects, conducting scoping and defining deliverables.

• Knowledge of banking or finance.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL or No
  
  SQL).
• Experience with client/server software architectures, networking or microservice architectures.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Mesos.
