Senior Java​/Kotlin Engineers - Fintech

Hybrid – 3 days/week in office - London)

We’re a fast-growing fintech company based in London, building high-performance, scalable platforms that power modern financial services. We’re looking for a Senior Java/Kotlin Engineers to play a key role in designing and delivering mission-critical systems used at scale.

This is a hands-on senior role with real technical influence and the opportunity to mentor others and shape engineering best practices.

• Designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput backend services
• Working with event-driven and distributed systems at scale
• Contributing to architectural decisions and technical direction
• Writing clean, testable, production-grade code
• Collaborating closely with product, platform, and Dev Ops teams
• Mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership (formally or informally)
• Java & Kotlin (More Server side Kotlin, the better!)
• Spring Boot
• Kafka
• Microservices & event-driven architecture

• 8+ years of commercial software engineering experience
• Strong background in Java
  , with exposure to or interest in Kotlin
• Solid experience building backend systems using Spring Boot
• Experience working with Kafka or similar messaging/event platforms
• Strong cloud experience, ideally AWS
• Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability
• Leadership experience (mentoring, leading projects, or guiding technical decisions) is highly desirable

• Fintech or regulated-environment experience
• Experience influencing architecture or platform strategy
• A pragmatic approach to balancing delivery with technical excellence
