Senior​/Principal Platform Architect

Overview

At Basware, we’re transforming how enterprises manage their invoice lifecycle. We are looking for a Senior / Principal Platform Architect to own and evolve the technical vision and architecture of our invoice automation and compliance platform. You will design and drive the architecture of a multi‑tenant SaaS platform that is scalable, secure, and compliant across global markets. As a senior individual contributor, you will work hands‑on with product and engineering to drive architectural decisions and guide implementation of a high‑scale, cloud‑native product platform.

• Design and evolve the multi‑tenant SaaS platform for scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to make concrete architectural decisions and guide implementation.
• Provide hands‑on architectural leadership and shape long‑term platform evolution.

Your architecture will influence how enterprises:

• Comply with rapidly changing global regulations.
• Prevent fraud before money moves.
• Trust automation at massive scale.

• 5+ years of experience in system/product/platform architecture, with hands‑on ownership of complex, distributed B2B SaaS systems.
• Proven experience designing and evolving multi‑tenant SaaS platforms.
• Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns, including event‑driven systems, microservices, domain‑driven design, data pipelines, and API ecosystems.
• Experience making long‑term product architecture decisions, including feature evolution, scalability, and maintainability of a platform over time.
• Strong hands‑on experience in cloud‑native architecture – designing, building, and operating scalable solutions (AWS preferred; Azure acceptable).
• Ability to balance technical depth with pragmatic decision‑making in a product environment.
• Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in a product‑led organization.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills (verbal and written in English).
• Domain knowledge in finance, invoicing, document automation, ERP integration, or compliance platforms is a strong plus.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with AI tools, frameworks or applications is considered a strong asset.
