Career Discovery Program - Software Development

Are you graduating from university in 2028 and interested in exploring a future career in Software Development?

Expedia Group’s Career Discovery Program is an insight program designed for students who want to learn more about software development careers in a global travel technology business. Through this program, you’ll gain exposure to our engineering community, hear from technical experts, build practical career skills, and grow your network ahead of future internship opportunities.

The program will include an in-person launch event in our London office on Tuesday 14th July and monthly virtual webinars focused on helping you prepare for internship applications and interviews.

Please note that this program is unpaid; however, catering will be provided for the in-person event.

• Learn about Expedia Group, our business and our purpose and behaviours
• Gain insight into software development career journeys through networking with engineers and early careers talent.
• Be inspired through a software‑focused tech talk led by one of our subject matter experts.
• Explore how Expedia Group engineers use AI tools and responsible experimentation to improve software development
• Collaborate in small groups to develop a solution to a real‑world technical business challenge.
• Meet with the Emerging Talent & Careers team to gain advice on your future career steps.
• Receive support and development through webinars designed to support you beyond the program, leading up to internship applications opening.

• You are available to attend the in‑person launch event in our Angel, London, and to participate in monthly virtual sessions from August – October. If selected, the schedule will be provided to you closer to the date.
• You are graduating from university in the same country as the program location.
• You are studying for an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical subject, and expect to graduate between December 2027 and July 2028.
• You are curious and motivated to potentially pursue a future career in software development.
• You have an interest in technology and the travel industry.

Our Emerging Talent & Careers team will review applications, and suitable applicants may be invited to complete a coding assessment to assess basic foundational skills. Final outcomes will be shared by week of 23rd June.
