Software Architect, Software Engineer, Agile Developer

SC CLEARED SOFTWARE ARCHITECT (JAVA / CLOUD) NEWCASTLE, UK (HYBRID - 4 DAYS ONSITE, FRIDAY REMOTE) 12-MONTH CONTRACT UP TO £70 PER HOUR (INSIDE IR35) A skilled SC Cleared Software Engineer with strong Java and cloud development experience is required for an innovative organisation delivering cloud-based geospatial software solutions used in complex, data-driven environments. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable cloud-native applications within a collaborative Agile Scrum team.

Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will contribute to the delivery of secure, high-quality software while supporting continuous improvement and best engineering practices. The role offers a hybrid working model based in Newcastle, with four days onsite and Fridays working remotely. KEY REQUIREMENTS Active SC Clearance Proven experience as a Software Architect or Senior Technical Lead Strong background in software architecture and solution design Experience working within complex enterprise or mission-critical environments Ability to balance technical, business, and security requirements DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE Defence, aerospace, or space sector experience Experience working within highly regulated environments Knowledge of secure software development and system integration Experience supporting Agile delivery teams This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team developing modern cloud-native solutions while working with the latest technologies and Agile delivery practices.
