A solid background in trade processing systems and familiarity with trade platform frameworks are essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Java, preferably Java 17, and have hands‑on experience working with event‑driven architectures such as Apache Kafka. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, along with experience in Linux/Unix environments, is a must.

Additionally, the candidate should have a good understanding of low‑latency, high‑throughput system design and problem‑solving skills tailored to front office trading environments. Prior experience working directly with trading desks or knowledge of asset classes such as FX, Fixed Income, or Derivatives will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with front office traders, quantitative analysts, and other technology teams to deliver innovative and reliable technical solutions.
  • Design and implement scalable, event‑driven architectures utilizing Apache Kafka to ensure efficient data flow and processing.
  • Contribute to the development, optimization, and maintenance of Trade Runner frameworks, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Build containerised microservices deployed via Kubernetes, ensuring modularity, scalability, and ease of deployment.
  • Maintain system reliability and performance within a Linux‑based environment, implementing best practices for system stability and security.
  • Participate actively within Agile teams, engaging in design discussions, code reviews, and adherence to best coding practices.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system issues promptly, providing effective solutions to minimise downtime and impact on trading activities.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve system architecture and performance.
