Senior Backend Engineer

The Context

Natter has just closed a competitive Series A round (securing term sheets in under two weeks), which gives us the capital to scale massive corporate deployments for clients like Deloitte, Legal & General, and Miro. We are a team of ex-Uber, WeWork, and Amazon builders. We have the funding, the clients, and the product‑market fit. Now, we are looking for a Software Engineer who wants to help us scale the platform to the next level.

  You’ll get involved wherever the problem lives—product, frontend, backend, or infrastructure.

  We are a remote‑first team, which means you can work from wherever you do your best work. If you’re based in or near London, you’re welcome to use our office in Soho, London, for collaboration, team lunches, or just a change of scenery.

  How We Work

  Here’s what our engineering culture looks like:

  • Everyone owns quality. We don’t have a separate QA team—if you write it, you test it, and you ship it.
  • We ship constantly. Instead of weekly releases, we rely on CI/CD, feature flags, and observability to get code to production multiple times a day.
  • Fast feedback is how we learn and evolve.
  • End‑to‑end ownership. You’ll touch everything from database schemas to React components to the AWS infrastructure that runs them. It’s your work, but always with your team’s support.
  • We use AI to work smarter. Copilot, LLMs, and other tools help us handle the mundane so we can focus on the hard, interesting problems.

Language isn’t the point. We care more about engineering fundamentals than whether you know Python, Type Script, or Rust.

• You value E2E ownership. You are comfortable (or want to be) touching every part of the application lifecycle.

• You are comfortable with ambiguity. We are post‑Series A, but we are still moving fast. Requirements change, and you need to make decisive technical choices without a perfect spec.

• You think beyond code. You care about the product and the user experience, and enjoy contributing to the vision and direction of what we’re building—not just shipping features.

• You want to see your work used. You care about the impact of your work on real users, not just code quality.

• You have experience shipping. You have 5+ years of experience and have seen what it takes to run business‑critical systems in production.
