  Flexible - London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff or North East, with the option for hybrid working (2 days onsite per week)
• Contract:
  
  12 months, inside IR35
• Day Rate:£600 to £750 per day
• Security Clearance:
  
  SC clearance minimum

In this role, you’ll take the lead on designing, developing, and delivering high-quality, resilient software solutions within a secure, government-aligned environment. Your expertise in full-system design will be vital in translating user needs into scalable, secure, and tested applications, ensuring they meet strict compliance standards for controlled goods and exports.

• Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of scalable software solutions, primarily using Python and Django
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Business Analysts, UCD specialists, and developers to define technical outcomes
• Build and support secure, high-performance, test-driven code
• Maintain and optimise live services, supporting stability and performance
• Drive continuous system improvement and ensure smooth integration across complex platforms
• Oversee multiple work streams within an agile delivery environment

• At least 5+ years’ experience, preferably 8-10 years, with strong Python and Django expertise
• Proven ability in system design from concept to deployment
• Experience working within secure, structured, or regulated environments
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and multidisciplinary team working

• Experience aligned with GDS standards
• Background in public sector or defence domains
• Exposure to secure or sensitive environments
