Full Stack Engineer

Overview

Monzo is a digital bank that aims to simplify banking for everyone. We build an in‑house banking platform and empower teams to design products, improve infrastructure, and solve customer challenges across security, payments, and data.

• Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product
• A passion for building a product that users rely on every day
• A product mindset: care about customer outcomes and make data‑informed decisions
• Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity
• Interest in distributed systems and writing resilient software
• Experience with strongly‑typed languages such as Go, Java, C, Scala, or similar
• Experience building performant web experiences and designing UI that makes it easy for users to accomplish their goals

As a Full‑Stack Engineer you will work in a squad with product managers, designers, researchers, mobile engineers, and data analysts to build and support a specific part of Monzo. You will collaborate across disciplines, own features that customers use every day, and contribute to both product and infrastructure initiatives.

• Go for application logic
• AWS for production infrastructure and GCP for data infrastructure
• React for public web apps and internal tools
• Physical datacenters and connectivity to third‑party services

• Final interview, including a system design and a behavioural interview

• £105,000 – £135,000 salary plus incentive awards linked to performance
