Cloud Architect

Location:

West London (Heathrow). Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office.

We are looking for a highly experienced Cloud Architect who is both architecturally strong and hands‑on in development.

This role is not a pure architect or governance role. The candidate must still actively write production code and design complex distributed systems.

The client specifically wants a small number of exceptional engineers rather than many average profiles.

• Strong AWS architecture and development experience
• Building event‑driven systems (Kafka, Event Bridge or similar)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• SQL and No
  
  SQL databases
• CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices

Most importantly, candidates must demonstrate they can both design architecture and build it themselves.

• Experience in aviation or travel technology
• Knowledge of AI / ML frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, Cloud Watch)
• Multi‑cloud experience (Azure or GCP)
• AWS certifications
• Open‑source contributions

• A senior engineer or architect who still codes daily
• able to operate in large enterprise environments
• strong communicator who can influence technical direction

The client is prioritising quality over quantity and is specifically looking for top technical experts rather than general cloud engineers.
