Software Test Engineer – UK Visa Sponsorship Available Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic software development team. The chosen applicant will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining thorough test plans to assure the highest quality of our software products. This role requires tight collaboration with developers, business analysts and stakeholders to build robust, reliable and user-friendly solutions. Experience with test automation, continuous integration and diverse testing approaches is critical to success in this position.

The right applicant will be good at analysing things and will be proactive in troubleshooting and quality assurance.

• Create extensive test cases, scripts and strategies based on functional and technical criteria.
• Manual and automated testing for online, mobile (Android and iOS) and desktop apps.
• Implement automation and performance testing using tools like Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, JUnit, Load Runner.
• Identify problems through system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), functional testing, regression testing, load testing and performance testing.
• Work with developers to debug and resolve issues; analyse test findings to determine root causes of problems.
• Keep detailed records of test cases, test scripts, defect reports in Jira or HP ALM.
• Review software builds before deployment to help release management.
• Participate in requirements collecting sessions to ensure features are testable.
• Contribute to SDLC procedures including analysis skills and business requirements documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Dev Ops approaches like Jenkins, Maven, Ant, Docker (if applicable) and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

• Experience with software quality assurance or software testing in a fast-paced development environment.
• Strong understanding of SDLC approaches including Waterfall and Agile methodologies like Scrum/Kanban.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as Load Runner or comparable tools to analyse system performance.
• Experience with operating systems such as Windows and Linux; comprehension of network protocols and web services (REST/SOAP).
• Ability to debug using Visual Studio or Eclipse.
• Must have expertise with version control systems like Git Lab, Github, SVN.
• Strong analytical skills with capacity to analyse large data sets; good problem solving skills for root cause analysis.
• Good communication abilities to document test procedures and disclose defects effectively to technical teams.
