Who is Sonar?
Sonar is driving the future of agent‑centric software development. As the leader in AI code verification and governance, we solve a critical problem: ensuring that software generated by AI‑assisted developers or autonomous agents is reliable, secure, and maintainable.
Integrating seamlessly with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Git Hub Copilot, Gemini, and Devin, we help over 75% of the Fortune 100 build trusted, reliable, compliant software. Customers who use Sonar are 44% less likely to report an outage due to AI‑generated code.
We believe code verification is the critical missing link in the Agent‑Centric Development Cycle (AC/DC). Industry giants like Nvidia, Service Now, , Goldman Sachs, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company count on us to provide independent, explainable, consistent review and governance of their AI‑generated code via products like:
- Sonar Qube:
The world’s leading AI code review and verification platform. - Sonar Qube Foundation Agent:
Currently topping the leaderboards for agentic software repair. - Sonar Sweep & Sonar Context Augmentation:
Providing the enterprise‑grade context and constraints agents need to be truly effective.
Our team operates across global hubs in Austin, Bochum, Dubai, Geneva, London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C. We move with a mindset we call CODE:
- Committed to our customers and community.
- Obsessed with quality.
- Deliberate in our decisions.
- Effective as one team.
With over $400M in revenue and profitable, fast‑paced growth, we are building the backbone of the AI software revolution. If you’re hungry to have an impact, want to build at a fast pace, and ready to work at the forefront of AI, we want to hear from you.
Position descriptionWe're looking for a Senior or Staff Technical Writer to join the Sonar documentation team. We want someone who thinks like a developer, writes like a communicator, and builds documentation the same way engineers build software.
You’ll own developer‑facing content across the Sonar Qube product suite: conceptual guides, integration tutorials, and release documentation. You’ll work directly alongside engineers and PMs, live in the same repos and PRs they do, and be expected to catch a broken code sample the same way you'd catch a grammatical error. You’ll also shape how we think about documentation as a discipline — owning tooling decisions, defining style and structure, and raising the bar for the whole team.
As a Software Technical Writer, you will own developer‑facing content across the Sonar Qube product suite. Your work will directly shape how practitioners using Sonar products—including developers, Dev Ops, and platform engineers—approach code quality and security. You will be the trusted expert, translating complex capabilities into practical knowledge. By crafting compelling, hands‑on educational content, such as conceptual guides, in‑depth tutorials, how‑to‑guides, etc.,
to help enable millions of practitioners to write high quality, secure code. You won't just explain features; you will define the developer's journey with our products, establishing Sonar as an essential part of their Agentic SDLC workflow. You’ll also shape how we think about documentation as a discipline. You will influence tooling decisions, help define style and structure, and raise the bar for the whole team.
- Plan, write, and maintain high‑quality documentation for developer audiences: getting‑started guides, how‑tos, conceptual explanations, and release notes.
- Work in a docs‑as‑code workflow — authoring in Markdown, submitting PRs, reviewing diffs, and running docs through the same CI pipeline as code.
- Use AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, and content auditing — and take full ownership of the quality and accuracy of the output.
- Collaborate with engineers to document new features accurately and on time, often working from specs, early builds, and code review comments.
- Verify, and maintain code samples (in languages relevant to our integrations) to ensure they compile, run, and stay current with product changes.
- Audit and improve existing documentation for accuracy, completeness, structure, and voice.
- Help evolve the…
