Software Engineer, Java Developer, DevOps

About the Team

Our dynamic Agile team is at the forefront of developing cutting‑edge technology for the future of peer review in scientific discovery. We are creating an innovative peer review system to enhance the review process.

This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. The successful candidate will have the ability to work on individual pieces of work and solve problems, including the design of the program flow of separate pieces of code, effective coding, and unit testing.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy applications in a cloud-hosted distributed system.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions to ensure stability, scalability, and performance.
• Identify and implement improvements to engineering practices and the delivery pipeline to increase quality and speed.
• Collaborate with a cross‑functional Agile team (engineering, product, QA, Dev Ops) to deliver positive business outcomes.
• Work with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, iterate on feedback, and deliver user‑focused solutions in a fast‑moving environment.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Java, JavaScript/Type Script (React, Angular, etc.), SQL and willingness to learn newer technologies.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Enjoy collaborating with team members to create innovative solutions.
• Experience with a modern IDE (IntelliJ or VSCode) and proficiency in using refactoring tools.
• Open to discussing and honing approaches to improve working practices.
• Experience with test‑driven development and mocking libraries (Jest, Mockito).
• Familiarity with collaborative documentation tools (Jira and Confluence).
• Practical knowledge of Agile practices and execution (Scrum, Kanban).
• Interest or experience with AI‑based solutions.
• Eager to learn and grow skills and experience.
