We are seeking an experienced Lead Mobile Engineer to support our clients in the strategy, development, and execution of mobile applications across platforms. This role will involve leading a high‑performing mobile engineering team in London, 3 days a week on‑site.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of mobile engineers, mentoring and ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, security, and performance across mobile platforms.
- Propose state‑of‑the‑art architectures for new or evolving applications.
- Serve as the mobile technology expert and advocate across the company, monitoring market trends and mobile product behaviors.
- Oversee development, deployment, and maintenance of all mobile applications, championing a quality‑driven approach with robust CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and app stability metrics.
- Ensure timely delivery through agile methodologies and partner with Product Management and Design to scope features and set technical direction.
- Translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical client stakeholders, helping clients navigate trade‑offs between speed, cost, and technical debt.
- Collaborate with backend and web teams for seamless API integration and consistent user experience, with deep knowledge of REST or GraphQL.
- Stay current with industry trends and assess emerging technologies for future mobile strategy.
- Drive internal and client initiatives such as talks, workshops, and community advocacy.
- 10+ years in mobile engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical expertise in native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development.
- Experience leading mobile teams in a high‑growth or consumer‑facing company.
- Deep understanding of mobile architecture, MVVM, MVI, and platform‑specific guidelines.
- Track record of delivering and scaling complex mobile apps with millions of users.
- Excellent communication (in English) and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience in an AI‑First development environment or using AI tools to enhance engineering robustness and efficiency.
- Experience with cross‑platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform/Compose).
- Experience in Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and app store release management.
- Background in performance tuning, mobile analytics, and A/B testing.
