Model ML is a $75M Series A London-based AI company building an intelligent workspace for the financial services industry. Backed by FT Partners and YC W24, the platform serves major global banks and private equity firms who trust Model ML for their most sensitive financial analysis and data workflows.

As Head of Platform Engineering at Model ML, you will lead the evolution of production-grade infrastructure for the AI era. Based in Kings Cross, you’ll own the end-to-end cloud strategy, scaling our Azure/AKS environment and leading a growing team. You’ll ensure high availability, security, and compliance for the world’s leading financial institutions.

• Lead the platform function at a high-growth, YC-backed AI startup reimagining the Bloomberg Terminal for top-tier financial institutions.
• Secure massive ownership with a $75M Series A war chest and a mandate to scale the platform team from 3 to 9 engineers by 2026.
• Work in a high-intensity, mission-critical environment where your infrastructure directly enables AI-driven workflows for the world's most sophisticated private equity firms and banks.

• Architect and scale cloud infrastructure using Azure, AKS, and Terraform to support rapid product growth and demanding financial service workloads.
• Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure system reliability, performance, and seamless software delivery across all services.
• Lead the company through SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits, implementing rigorous security, secrets management, and compliance measures across the entire platform.

• Has 10+ years of experience in infrastructure and platform engineering, specifically architecting and operating production-grade Kubernetes and Terraform environments at scale.
• Demonstrates a proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in high-growth startup environments with a focus on operational excellence.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership culture and possesses deep experience navigating complex compliance frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.
