Senior Front End Developer

Our client is building AI systems that work in the real world. They need a Senior Front End Developer who owns how that system behaves on desktop, with a focus on reliability, performance, and real-time behaviour in production applications. The Role You will build and maintain cross-platform desktop applications that bring AI capabilities directly to users, ensuring a fast, stable, and seamless experience across macOS and Windows.

• Cross-platform desktop applications built in Electron
• Responsive and scalable UIs for real-time collaboration
• Desktop-specific functionality: file system access, native notifications, auto-updates, and deep linking
• Integration of AI-powered features via backend APIs
• Startup time, memory usage, and runtime performance optimisation
• Large local state and message history management
• Smooth real-time updates: messages, typing indicators, and presence
• Stability across macOS and Windows environments

• Proven experience building production Electron applications
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Type Script
• Experience with React or similar UI frameworks
• Solid understanding of the desktop application lifecycle
• Experience with IPC communication and local storage (SQLite, IndexedDB, file system)
• Familiarity with Web Sockets or other real-time transport mechanisms
• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills
• Familiarity with native OS behaviours on macOS or Windows
