As a Back End Engineer at Thought Machine, you will lead the development of Vault, a modern API-first platform replacing decades-old banking infrastructure. Working with Python or Golang, you'll design scalable microservices and own production deployments, collaborating directly with tier-one banks to scope and deliver mission-critical financial technology.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement scalable, performant microservices using Python or Golang within a continuous deployment monorepo environment.
• Own the full software lifecycle, from translating complex customer requirements into tickets to managing and debugging deployments in production.
• Interface directly with other engineering teams and clients to ensure features are integrated into the Vault product in a coherent way.

The ideal candidate

• Has 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with deep proficiency in either Python or Golang for building distributed systems.
• Demonstrates a commitment to technical excellence through automated unit and integration testing as an integral part of the development cycle.
• Exhibits strong communication skills for client-facing projects, including the ability to scope deliverables and define technical requirements.
