As one of Volumetree's first London-based Backend Engineers, you will design and scale Python (FastAPI) services that power AI-driven products. You will own the entire lifecycle of production services, from schema design to AWS deployment. • Architect, build, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python and FastAPI to support diverse AI-driven product requirements and features.
• Design and optimize Postgres data layers and implement Redis for efficient caching and message queuing within a high-traffic production environment.
• Manage the full deployment lifecycle on AWS, utilizing Docker and Kubernetes to ensure robust monitoring, scalability, and reliability for all services.

• Possesses 4+ years of professional experience building and scaling production-grade APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Demonstrates deep expertise in SQL, including complex schema design, performance optimization, and managing data integrity for large-scale production applications.
• Has a proven track record of end-to-end service ownership, from initial technical specification through to deployment, monitoring, and maintaining production reliability.
