Director of Engineering

We're partnering with an established B2B technology business that's investing heavily in the next phase of its engineering organisation.

Following significant growth, they're looking for a Director of Engineering to lead multiple software engineering teams and help shape the future of their technology platform. Reporting into the executive technology leadership team, you'll be responsible for scaling engineering capability, improving software delivery, and creating an environment where high-performing teams can thrive.

This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, working closely with product and technology stakeholders to deliver ambitious business objectives.

• Provide leadership across several engineering teams responsible for delivering mission-critical SaaS products.
• Develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders, building a culture centred on ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Improve software delivery, release confidence and operational performance across multiple product areas.
• Drive architectural evolution, cloud adoption and platform scalability.
• Champion modern engineering practices, automation and developer productivity.
• Work closely with product leadership to balance customer value with longterm technical investment.
• Support technology planning, organisational growth and engineering capability as the business continues to scale.
• Foster an engineering culture that values innovation, quality and measurable business impact.

You’ll have experience leading sizeable engineering organisations within a software product business and will be comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels.

• Built and scaled high-performing engineering teams.
• Delivered complex SaaS products in cloud environments.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or multi-cloud architectures.
• A strong understanding of modern software engineering, platform engineering and Dev Ops practices.
• Successfully led organisational or technology transformation programmes.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for coaching and developing people.
• An interest in how AI can improve engineering productivity and accelerate software delivery.
