King operates games at a massive scale, serving hundreds of millions of players around the world. Behind every player experience is a large ecosystem of services, data platforms, forecasting systems, and internal tools that help our teams make better decisions, move faster, and deliver exceptional experiences.

We are looking for a Developer (Python) to help design, build, and operate backend services, internal applications, and data-driven platforms that support critical business and product decisions across King. You will work on systems that process large volumes of data, run forecasting and analytical workloads, and provide reliable APIs and services consumed by teams across the company.

You will collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders to build scalable solutions that transform complex data into actionable insights. This role combines backend engineering, distributed systems, cloud-native development, and data-intensive applications. While the primary focus of the role is backend engineering, you will also contribute to user-facing internal applications, helping deliver end-to-end solutions that enable teams across King to work more effectively.

An important part of the role will be integrating our platforms and tools with the broader King and Microsoft ecosystem, enabling seamless collaboration,authentication, data exchange, and workflow automation across multiple services and platforms.

Some of your responsibilities include:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python Build scalable and reliable applications that support forecasting, analytics, and decision-making processes across the business

Develop distributed processing pipelines and asynchronous workloads

Design and optimize relational OLTP databases, data models, and query performance

Build and maintain data processing, analytical, and forecasting workflows

Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications when required

Build intuitive interfaces and workflows that enable technical and non-technical users to interact with backend systems and business tools

Integrate services with the King and Microsoft ecosystems, including identity, collaboration, communication, and productivity platforms

Develop and maintain APIs and connectors that enable interoperability between internal and external systems

Deploy, monitor, and operate containerized applications in cloud-native environments

Contribute to technical designs, architectural discussions, and engineering best practices

Improve system reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence

Deliver high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing initiatives across teams

Support CI/CD pipelines and automation practices throughout the software development lifecycle

Strong Python development experience in production environments

Experience building backend services and APIsUnderstanding of modern web application development and the ability to contribute across the stack when needed

Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and distributed systems

Experience designing and optimizing relational databases

Experience building data-intensive applications and processing large datasets

Experience with background processing, job orchestration, or distributed workloads

Experience deploying and operating applications in containerized and cloud-native environments

Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automation pipelines

Strong testing, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

High sense of code quality and the desire to build and maintain robust, reliable software

Curiosity and adaptability when learning new technologies and domains
