Forward Deployed Engineering Lead – Global Broking

Role Overview This is the first engineering leadership hire in a new function. You will lead a small team of 3-4 engineers turning business-built prototypes into production tools that desks rely on every day.

Success is measured by the value your team delivers, the reliability of the services you own, and the confidence desks and stakeholders place in your team.

You will remain hands-on, though this is a leadership role rather than a solo build or research role, reviewing designs and code, making technical decisions, and helping the team deliver effectively. Product sets priorities, Architecture sets standards, and you own delivery.

Responsibilities Lead and develop a small engineering team delivering multiple broker-facing products.

Turn prototypes into secure, scalable, production-grade services.

Own end-to-end delivery, including deployment, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.

Build trusted relationships with desks and stakeholders, ensuring priorities, progress, and risks are clearly communicated.

Deliver within TP ICAP's engineering, governance, security, and change management frameworks.

Experience / Competences Essential Experience  leading people, engineering teams, or owning the delivery of an engineering squad.

Strong stakeholder management, communication, and judgement.

Ability to deliver in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements.

Experience operating production services, including deployment, monitoring, incident management, and support.

Strong hands-on engineering skills in Python and Type Script, with the ability to review code, set technical direction, and guide implementation.

Experience using modern software development tools and practices, including AI-assisted tooling where appropriate.

Desired Experience in financial services, trading, broking, or capital markets.

AWS experience, including serverless and cloud-native architectures.

Experience taking prototypes into production and supporting business users.

Typical backgrounds might include Tech Lead, Engineering Lead, Forward Deployed Engineer, Squad Lead, fintech engineering leader, or consultancy delivery lead.
