Reports to the Director of Engineering but with close working relationships with the Cognizant Studio team and the wider business units. Responsible for the Development and Support of the Meritsoft Finbos application and the integration of new components into the platform KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY Working as part of a dynamic and fast-growing engineering team, the Software Engineering Platform Lead will take technical ownership and leadership for the Merit FINBOS platform application.

Working closely with the wider business units to support and deliver secure, performant and scalable solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Work closely with pre-sales and the business leads to understand the technical requirements of our clients

Work closely with the wider Engineering, Delivery and Security teams to help define the technical strategy

Select and implement the appropriate technical components based on considered practices and strategies

Oversee the delivery of the strategy by the core engineering team providing sound technical recommendations

Ownership for the agile processes and productivity of the assigned engineering team Leadership and mentoring for the technical teams APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE, PROBLEM SOLVING & INNOVATION Must have a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience leading software engineering teams

Experience with hands on development in the Microsoft .NET stack

Experience working with older technical stacks including VBscript and C++Strong understanding of the various database including Oracle and SQL ServerINTERACTIONSenior Management teams across Meritsoft Architecture and Product teams

Legal, Compliance and SecurityIMPACTDevelopment and Support of the Meritsoft product to meet the requirements of our clients and internal teams. WORKING CONDITIONS (hours, locations, accident or health hazards, travel facilities)

Experience in ownership of software design, demonstrating proactive engagement to deliver solutions.

Proven experience working within agile methodologies while understanding the fundamental principles behind what they are trying to achieve and why they are valued

Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity, applying both pragmatism and bold direction when appropriate

Experience of working in and supporting older technologies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working in multi-disciplinary and remote teams

Desirable:

Experience of migrations from legacy to newer technical architectures LEVEL OF EDUCATION/ATTAINMENTS (e.g. A levels, degree, professional qualifications including subjects studied, training)
Essential:
Strong commercial acumen backed up by considerable business experience.
