At New Store, our product engineering teams use XP practices to build and run our industry-leading cloud-native Omni-Channel Point of Sale platform. They follow the “you run what you build” ethos - but that doesn’t mean they’re on their own!

The New Store Platform Engineering & Dev Ex team enables our product engineering teams to move fast without breaking things. Happy developers are productive developers, so we use a platform-as-product approach to moving much of the undifferentiated heavy lifting into our internal developer platform, thus reducing cognitive load while ensuring consistent application of security and architectural standards. What You'll DoAs part of our team, you’ll work closely with stream-aligned teams following eXtreme Programming practices, including TDD and trunk-based development.

Designing, shipping and operating production services :
Golang/Python are preferred

Building internal platforms other engineers actually adopt : shared libraries, golden paths, paved-road tooling. measuring whether they work (adoption, DX/DORA, developer feedback)
XP practices: TDD, pair programming, trunk-based development, AI-generated change validated at scale and tight feedback loops with your internal customersCI/CD and deployment engineering : infrastructure as code, secure pipelines, zero-downtime and progressive delivery; making it safe for the teams you serve to ship on every commit

Identity and access in the product: authentication and authorization for APIs and services (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, fine-grained permissions) beyond cloud IAM policies

Reliability engineering: SLOs, error budgets and observability built on Open Telemetry Cloud  engineering and architecture:
Kubernetes & AWS(principally EKS, RDS, AmazonMQ and MSK); GCP familiarity comes in handy
