Salary: £65,000 - 75,000 per year
Requirements:- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of commercial experience in Backend Engineering, Data Engineering or Machine Learning Engineering.
- Expert-level Python development skills.
- Commercial experience with Machine Learning, NLP or AI platforms.
- Experience product ionising machine learning models at scale.
- Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases, including performance optimisation.
- Experience designing cloud-native solutions within AWS and/or Azure.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised deployments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and Infrastructure as Code.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A passion for mentoring and developing other engineers.
- Design, build and maintain scalable AI data pipelines and processing workflows.
- Develop cloud-native backend systems and scalable microservices.
- Partner closely with Data Scientists to product ionise Machine Learning, NLP and Generative AI models.
- Build and optimise RESTful APIs for AI model serving.
- Monitor system reliability, model performance and observability across production environments.
- Drive best practices across CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code and MLOps.
- Improve system integration and interoperability across enterprise platforms.
- Support internal and external consumers of AI services and APIs.
- Translate evolving business requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and influence engineering standards.
