Job Description

As a Robotic Software Engineer at Paddington Robotics Limited, you will own core subsystems end-to-end, moving between high-level autonomy and low-level embedded control. You will write production C++ and Python for physical robots deployed in chaotic, real-world environments, working alongside an elite team from Amazon, Insta Deep, and top-tier UK universities.

What You Will Do

Take end-to-end ownership of a key robotics subsystem, including specification, implementation, testing, and maintenance of code running on real hardware.
Develop and optimize algorithms across various domains such as SLAM, navigation, computer vision, and high-performance computing using C++ and Python.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and spend time on customer sites to understand real-world requirements and iterate on hardware-software integration.

The ideal candidate

Proven expertise in Python and C/C++ with a strong track record of shipping software that interacts with physical sensors, actuators, and hardware.
Hands-on experience in robotics, specifically with microcontrollers, image processing, CUDA, or SLAM, and a Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
A pragmatic, low-ego problem solver who thrives in dynamic, multi-disciplinary environments and is comfortable taking projects from concept to completion.
