Optimisation Engineer | Early-Stage AI Start-Up | London

Optimisation Engineer required to join an ambitious early-stage AI start-up in London, building intelligent systems to solve complex real-world operational problems.

You’ll take significant ownership of the company’s core optimisation technology, developing systems that make complex decisions dynamically as real-world conditions change.

This is a highly technical role combining optimisation, algorithms, software engineering, and AI with the opportunity to see your work deployed into real operational environments.

• 3+ years of professional experience in applied optimisation, operations research, or a closely related field
• Strong in Python with solid software engineering fundamentals
• Experienced with constraint programming, mathematical optimisation, MIP, heuristics, or meta heuristics
• Comfortable developing optimisation systems that operate under complex real-world constraints
• Experienced taking technical or algorithmic systems beyond research and into production
• Highly autonomous and motivated by solving difficult, open-ended problems

• Experience with CP-SAT, OR-Tools, or similar optimisation tooling
• Experience with real-time or incremental optimisation
• Experience with scheduling, routing, resource allocation, or similar optimisation problems
• Experience combining machine learning / AI with optimisation
• Previous experience in a high-growth start-up or similarly fast-moving environment

• Own a technically challenging and business-critical optimisation problem
• Work at the intersection of optimisation, AI, and real-world systems
• Take significant ownership over technical decisions and direction
