Senior Kotlin​/Java Engineer – FX Risk & Valuation

JUXT is partnering with a Tier 1 investment bank on a strategic initiative to build its next-generation FX Risk Platform
.

The programme is consolidating risk management capabilities into a modern, scalable architecture while decommissioning multiple legacy risk applications.

We are looking for a Senior Kotlin / Java Engineer to join the team building the platform's FX Options end-of-day Official Valuation capabilities, supporting the bank's Asia FX trading desk.

The platform is built using Java, Kotlin and Apache Flink
, with engineers embedded directly alongside the bank's development team and involved across the full delivery lifecycle.

You will work on the development of FX Options end-of-day Official Valuation capabilities, where correctness, data quality and reliability are critical.

The role covers the complete engineering lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through development, testing, review and production release.

You will work closely with the bank's engineers who own the EOD module, as well as trading desks and partner systems, helping translate business requirements into robust production capabilities.

• Build FX Options end-of-day Official Valuation capabilities on the next-generation FX Risk Platform.
• Develop production-grade Java and Kotlin stream-processing pipelines using Apache Flink.
• Translate business and trading requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Work closely with the Asia FX trading desk and partner systems to understand and refine requirements.
• Design and implement processing workflows where correctness and data integrity are critical.
• Build comprehensive testing and reconciliation processes around valuation outputs.
• Carefully handle late, missing or corrected data within processing pipelines.
• Own changes through the complete lifecycle:

• Work closely with the engineers responsible for the EOD module.
• Contribute to the progressive decommissioning of legacy FX risk applications.
• Support the operation and reliability of production data-processing systems.

Java & Kotlin

• Strong commercial experience with Kotlin.
• Strong core Java experience.
• Experience building and operating production-grade applications.
• Comfortable working within complex enterprise technology environments.

• Experience building and operating production data-processing systems.
• Good practical understanding of Apache Flink.

Candidates without direct Flink experience may still be considered where they have deep experience with comparable stream-processing technologies and demonstrate a clear appetite to develop deep expertise in Flink.

This role places particular emphasis on correctness rather than simply throughput.
