Hays are now looking for an AI Platform Engineer for one of our local clients:
£480 p/d Inside IR35
Remote
3 month contract
Seeking a Senior AI / SharePoint Engineer to lead the build of an enterprise AI evidence discovery platform using SharePoint, Azure AI services and Model Context Protocol (MCP). The role involves designing AI-powered search and retrieval capabilities across documents, emails, contracts and risk artefacts, while mentoring a junior engineer.
Responsibilities
- Develop MCP servers exposing SharePoint and Azure AI Search capabilities to AI agents.
- Build SharePoint and Microsoft Graph ingestion pipelines for documents, emails and attachments.
- Design and implement RAG and agentic AI workflows using Azure OpenAI.
- Deliver hybrid search solutions combining semantic and vector retrieval.
- Implement secure, permission-aware access controls using Entra OAuth.
- Produce production-ready solutions including testing, CI/CD, logging and documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a junior engineer.
Essential Skills & Experience
- MCP server development and AI agent tooling
- Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, RAG and prompt engineering
- SharePoint Online and Microsoft Graph API
- Hybrid semantic/vector search
- Enterprise API development and document processing
- Azure (Functions and/or Container Apps)
- Entra OAuth/OIDC- CI/CD, testing and production support
- Software engineering experience, ideally using Python and/or C#/.NET
Desirable Skills
- Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Microsoft Purview
- Enterprise knowledge management
- Legal/eDiscovery solutions
- Regulated or public-sector environments
