Quant Insight is looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the software behind our quantitative financial products.

This is a hands-on role working at the intersection of software engineering and quantitative finance. You'll work closely with software engineers and in-house quants to take financial algorithms and product ideas from concept through to production.

What You'll Be Doing

Design, implement, test, and deploy production financial software.
Work primarily with Python and C++.
Turn quantitative models and financial algorithms into robust production systems.
Build and maintain customer-facing APIs and applications.
Develop and maintain services running on AWS.
Work across the full software lifecycle, from design through deployment and ongoing support.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and CI/CD processes.
Diagnose and resolve issues in production systems.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Professional experience with Python, C++, and/or

C.
Experience with AWS, ideally including EC2, ECS, and/or DynamoDB.
Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
Understanding of HTTP, DNS, and networking fundamentals.
Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
Ability to independently design, implement, and deploy software, with work reviewed by senior engineers.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience in financial markets, quantitative finance, or fintech.
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
Experience with MySQL and database design.
Experience with Docker/containerisation.
Experience working with quantitative researchers, mathematical models, or large/time-series datasets.
Experience developing REST APIs or other web services.
