Location: Greater London

A leading organisation is seeking a Regulatory Reporting Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, working onsite in London. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing technology solutions that address global trade and transaction reporting requirements. You will work closely with engineering, compliance, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure that regulatory obligations are translated into robust, scalable technical implementations.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, and deploying regulatory reporting applications and data pipelines. You will build solutions that model complex trading workflows and business processes, and maintain systems that support global reporting standards. Investigating reporting exceptions, reconciling data discrepancies, and implementing automated solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiency will be key aspects of your role. You will also optimise data processing frameworks and support the full software development lifecycle, including production monitoring and troubleshooting.

Leveraging modern data engineering technologies and AI-enabled workflows to improve automation and control frameworks is expected. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and demonstrate strong professional experience developing software in Python. Expertise in SQL and relational databases, as well as a solid understanding of software engineering principles, system design, and data architecture, are essential.

Experience building scalable data processing solutions and distributed systems is highly valued. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are required. Preferred qualifications include experience in regulatory or transaction reporting, financial controls, or highly regulated environments, as well as knowledge of financial markets and trading systems. Familiarity with cloud platforms, modern data engineering technologies, AI-enabled workflows, and large-scale financial datasets will be advantageous.
