Role PurposeThe role of the Casual Community Coach is to support the growth of our community engagement programme. As the club expands its work across local schools and community football initiatives, they will play a key role in delivering high‑quality coaching sessions and positive off‑pitch experiences. They will support the preparation, delivery and review of school activations, community football sessions and other engagement activities.
This includes leading or assisting with coaching for a range of ages and abilities, as well as contributing to workshops, assemblies and other non‑football sessions.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and committed, with a passion for community impact and the development of girls’ and women’s football.
This is a new position within the business, so the responsibilities are not set in stone. We need someone who can jump in, get things done and work with the senior leadership team to shape the future of the club.
Main Duties/Responsibilities1. School Sessions
- Deliver or support football coaching sessions for children of varying ages and abilities across Kent and London.
- Assist with off‑pitch activities such as workshops, assemblies and player engagement.
- Contribute to the planning, delivery and review of school activations to ensure the highest quality experience.
- Deliver or support engaging, inclusive football sessions for participants of all ages and skill levels, promoting a love for the game and awareness of London City Lionesses.
- Build strong, positive relationships with players, parents, carers and local partners.
- Carry out key administrative tasks, including attendance registers, risk assessments and consent documentation.
- Qualified to UEFA C Licence level (or working towards).
- FA Safeguarding Children and First Aid qualifications.
- Passionate about community impact and the development of women’s and girls’ football.
- Confident communicators with the ability to engage and inspire both on and off the pitch.
- Skilled at building rapport with participants from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Experienced in a coaching or youth engagement environment.
- Highly organised with strong time‑management skills.
- Aged 18 or over.
- Available to work a mix of daytime, evenings and weekends
- Passionate about women’s football and broader women’s sport culture.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to deal with matrix stakeholders & ambiguity.
- High standards of personal integrity and EQ.
- Comfortable and able to work on own initiative
- Has a learning mindset; is keen to continue their self‑development and keep up to date with best practice and learning opportunities
- Continually seeks to improve efficiency and performance
- Seeks out and embraces new ways of thinking and working – not afraid to fail.
