We are recruiting for a company who deal with specialist freight forwarding and niche goods, they are looking for a bright, personable and experienced import clerk to join their team.

• Manage the full process ofimport shipments from arrival to final delivery.
• Handleairfreight import documentation, including AWBs, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, and customers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
• Arrangecustoms clearance, working closely with internal or external customs brokers.
• Prepare and submit import entries.
• Track and monitor shipments, updating customers proactively on progress and resolving any issues or delays.
• Liaise with customers on shipment status, requirements, and any additional services needed.
• Raise files in the companys freight management system, ensuring all costs and revenues are accurately recorded.
• Invoice files promptly and accurately in line with company policy.
• Support the team with sea and road import shipments when required.
• Ensure compliance with allHMRC and international trade regulations.
• Maintain and build good relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Experience inimport operations,
• Strong knowledge ofairfreight import procedure sand documentation.
• Understanding ofcustoms clearance processes.
