Unknown Resourcing are recruiting a Deputy Transport Manager / Assistant Transport Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy transport operation. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced transport professional who can step in for the Transport Manager when required and ensure operations continue safely, legally, and efficiently.

• Support the Transport Manager with daily transport operations
• Schedule drivers and monitor drivers’ hours and compliance
• Act as point of contact for drivers, providing guidance and support
• Ensure all vehicles are maintained, inspected, and roadworthy
• Plan routes and allocate resources efficiently
• Monitor deliveries and resolve operational issues
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, WTD, and Health & Safety
• Assist with audits, reporting, and KPI monitoring
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally

• Previous experience in transport or logistics, ideally in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance and regulations
• Class 2 (Category
  
  C) Driving Licence – essential
• Valid Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills
• Confident using IT systems, including Excel and transport software
• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Working toward Transport Manager CPC
• Experience with budgeting, planning, or team leadership
