Salary: Starting from IMC3 £ 45,044 (if already on a maintenance contract) or Standard Maintenance Contract £45,699 + location allowance
Shift Pattern: Days, nights and weekends (Safety critical role)
About the roleWe are seeking a motivated, safety‑focused individual to support the Team Leader in organising and motivating the team, ensuring safe delivery of work. The role includes inspections, fault‑finding, maintenance, renewal work and occasional leadership responsibilities.
What you'll do- Deliver work safely and efficiently in line with approved systems, standards, and procedures.
- Carry out inspections, maintenance, and fault‑finding on signalling equipment.
- Ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are fit for use and properly maintained.
- Accurately report completed work and maintain essential records.
- Proven experience in planning and implementing safe systems of work.
- Strong team player with the ability to motivate and embed a culture of safety within your team.
- Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
- Relevant competencies for the role (or willingness to achieve them); ideally NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent experience).
- A valid driving licence and willingness to drive.
- Familiarity with industry standards, procedures and instructions.
- Working towards or holding SMTH and IRSE competencies.
This is a safety critical role. Candidates must pass a medical assessment and be subject to drug and alcohol testing. The role requires working days, nights and weekends – flexibility is essential.
