Overview
We are seeking a Train Service Manager to join our team based at KICC, Puddle Dock.
As the Train Service Manager you will monitor and manage the real‑time delivery of our train service, ensuring passenger service quality and operational performance.
Responsibilities- Monitor and manage real‑time delivery of the train service, ensuring it runs on time.
- Adopt the best use of resources while protecting passenger needs and adhering to contractual requirements.
- Decide best courses of action when incidents occur and implement them with Southern and Network Rail staff.
- Operate from the 24/7 Control Centre, making quick decisions under pressure.
- Communicate across a wide variety of roles within the company.
- Awareness of the impact of actions/decisions on passengers and staff.
- Thorough knowledge of the relevant geography, stations, track layouts and services operated by the company.
- Good knowledge of operating, rolling stock, engineering, train crew and station procedures.
- Understanding of passenger flows across the network.
- Knowledge of generally available and bespoke IT systems.
- General education with passes in English Language and Mathematics.
- Ability to create own inputs and influence at multiple levels within the organisation.
- Ability to produce and implement emergency plans when routes become blocked.
