Job Type: Permanent – (Temp to Perm conversion)
Position: Transport Administrator – Nights
Pay Rates (nights)- £14.61 per hour for the first 12 weeks
- £15.12 per hour after 12 weeks
Base Salary £31,449.60 + Overtime as available
Hours of WorkWorking 5-nights on 7-nights including weekend operations. Hours of work are 22:00 to 07:00 each day.
About the RoleWorking for a leading parcel logistics company in the international hub and working with the transport department as part of a dynamic team. Ideally you have previous knowledge of a transport office and have good admin skills, ability to prioritise with attention to detail in this fast paced business.
Weekend availability is essential as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor inbound arrivals through customer pre-alerts and tracking systems to ensure appropriate capacity is booked on inbound and outbound vehicles.
- Manage and monitor customer collections, ensuring all service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Support daily transport planning activities.
- Prepare and complete documentation for export postal and commercial export shipments, including pre-alerts.
- Coordinate import and export shipments from collection through to final delivery, including airline bookings and communication with overseas agents and customers.
- Submit import and export customs entries using internal and external systems.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
- Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Book and optimise inbound and outbound vehicle movements in line with SLA and capacity requirements.
- Create and distribute vehicle load plans to operational teams.
- Act as a key point of contact for hauliers, gateways, ground handling agents (GHAs), depots, hubs, third-party drivers, and internal stakeholders.
- Promote and support a safe working environment for all employees.
- Undertake additional administrative and operational duties as required to support business needs.
- Ideally, previous administration experience within transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or a similar environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ideally knowledge of customs processes and transport planning, but not essential as attitude to learning is as important.
