Job Purpose Join the world’s largest and most profitable International airline and take your engineering career to new heights. At Emirates, our Licensed Aircraft Engineers play a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of the Emirates fleet — including the world’s largest A380, A350 and Boeing 777 operations — as well as third-party aircraft.
At Emirates, you’ll be part of a global team of aviation professionals committed to excellence, innovation, and safety. You’ll work with state-of-the-art aircraft, in a collaborative environment that values skill, dedication, and growth.
What’s the opportunity?
We’re proud to be expanding our UK operation with the launch of a new Emirates Engineering station at Manchester Airport. This is an exciting opportunity to join us from the beginning and play a key role in establishing and growing our new Manchester-based engineering team, led by our Maintenance Manager.
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer with Emirates, you’ll carry out and certify maintenance on Emirates aircraft in line with company procedures, safety standards and aviation regulations. Working alongside a skilled team of Engineers and Technicians, you’ll help ensure our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards and are ready for safe, efficient and on-time dispatch.
This is a unique opportunity to bring your technical expertise to one of the world’s leading airlines, support the growth of a new UK engineering station, and contribute directly to the safety and reliability of our global operation.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll carry out and certify aircraft maintenance tasks, including total cabin maintenance, ensuring all systems and passenger facilities are maintained to the highest safety and quality standards.
You’ll play a key role in supporting safe and efficient flight operations, ensuring maintenance activity is completed in line with required procedures, including fluid replenishment, refuelling and system changes. You’ll also liaise with the Maintenance Control Centre in Dubai and other key stakeholders to manage technical issues, resolve defects and support on-time aircraft dispatch.
As part of the role, you’ll supervise Aircraft Technicians, helping ensure maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently and to schedule. You’ll promote a strong safety culture by proactively identifying risks, taking appropriate action and supporting continuous improvement in day-to-day operations.
You’ll also assist with station administration, including materials, equipment handling and maintenance documentation. When required, you’ll support Aircraft on Ground recovery activity and may travel regionally and occasionally internationally to help return aircraft to service.
Qualification To be considered for this role, you must have the following
You must be a qualified Licensed Aircraft Engineer with an Airbus A380 type rating, together with a minimum of one additional Emirates aircraft type rating, ideally Airbus A350 or Boeing 777.You must have a minimum of five years’ experience as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, with strong working knowledge of applicable aviation legislation, regulatory requirements and aircraft maintenance procedures.
You must also be eligible to obtain and maintain an airport pass and airside driving permit for Manchester Airport, this will be achieved with a DBS and five year history check. You’ll have an edge if you have:
A full UK driving licence, alongside eligibility to obtain and maintain an airside driving permit.
Type ratings on all three Emirates aircraft types:
Airbus A380, Airbus A350 and Boeing 777.Experience working with UAE GCAA regulations, including holding a valid UAE GCAA licence or eligibility to convert your existing licence.
