We have an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Warehouse Team Leader on our Night Shift to join Team OB in our Warehouse here in Chessington.
35 Hours
Sunday (20:30pm‑06:45am) Monday (20:30pm‑06:45am) Tuesday (20:30pm‑06:45am) Wednesday (20:30pm‑06:45am)
As an Assistant Warehouse Team Leader on our Night shift at OB you will support the team leader who is responsible for leading the night shift team.
You will oversee the activity of the night shift in the absence of the team leader. This will include working to targets and delegating tasks to team members accordingly. You will liaise with the shift Team Leader and other departmental Team Leaders at the start of your shift to discuss and plan the workload each evening.
You’ll be overseeing the putting away of stock that has been prepared by the Goods In team, as well as replenishing the bin locations. You will also oversee the activity of bin replenishments and bin condensing.
You will delegate tasks to your team, making sure they are carried out to high standards and on time. You will be the key holder on shift and will be responsible for closing the building at the end of your shift in the absence of the team leader.
Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30‑minute journey from London Waterloo.
More about the role- Liaise with the Goods In Team Leader to discuss the stock put away requirements for each evening.
- Check that staff carry out stock put away in a timely and safe manner.
- Use a FIFO system for the baying of any perishable items.
- Run the bin replenishment report each evening and topping up pick bins to ensure we have adequate stock available to fulfil the following days pick.
- Identify large bin locations that are holding low quantities and then transferring them to smaller bin locations to optimize space in the warehouse.
- Make sure that the booking in process is carried out correctly and that all relevant departments are informed in the event of a QC issue or discrepancy.
- Conduct returns to work meetings with staff coming back to work from a period of absence due to sickness in the absence of the team leader
- Keep the Core HR system up to date, recording your Team Members overtime and holiday accurately.
- Ensure that incident and accident forms are completed when necessary and sent to the Health and Safety team.
- Positively create an inclusive environment for your team to thrive.
- Ensure that the Night Shift team leave the warehouse tidy and presentable for the day shift.
- Lock the gates and building at the end of each shift.
- While the role will be based around fixed shifts, flexibility to work other shifts or overtime hours may be need to support the business during peak periods.

- You will hold an up to date license of a counter balance and flexi style fork lift truck
- Comfortable learning and using different (WMS)

- The role will require the use of Microsoft Office, in particular, MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- PC literate with a knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
