Production and Warehouse Manager

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Production & Warehouse Manager to lead our small, close‑knit day‑to‑day assembly and warehouse operation, ensuring our luxury lighting and furniture products are assembled efficiently, accurately, safely and to the required quality standards.

This is a practical, floor‑based management role. You will lead and develop a team of skilled assembly technicians while remaining hands‑on in the warehouse and on the assembly floor.

Responsibilities include managing the physical flow of materials through the warehouse, receiving stock in, managing stock movements, carrying out stock counts, scheduling and guiding warehouse and assembly team members, and implementing health and safety procedures.

You will work closely with our Supply Chain Manager, who owns forecasting and supplier ordering and inbound shipping; our Shipping Coordinator who arranges outbound shipping; and with our Product Development and Sales Operations teams to ensure work is clearly prioritised, resources are effectively allocated, components are picked, and products move efficiently through assembly to finished goods to meet delivery timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, support and develop the assembly team.
• Plan and allocate assembly resources against agreed production requirements and priorities.
• Monitor assembly progress, manage bottlenecks and ensure work is completed to required timescales and quality standards.
• Manage day‑to‑day warehouse operations, including goods in, storage, stock movements, picking, returns and goods out.
• Take a hands‑on role in warehouse operations including loading and unloading deliveries, moving components and operating a forklift.
• Ensure components and materials are correctly picked and available for assembly.
• Maintain an organised, safe and efficient assembly and warehouse environment.
• Ensure approved assembly instructions, quality standards and testing procedures are consistently followed.
• Maintain and develop team skills and training.
• Manage tools, equipment and the physical layout of the assembly and warehouse areas.
• Identify and implement practical improvements to productivity, workflow and quality.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve issues and keep production and customer orders moving.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety.

Experience:

• Managing an assembly, production, manufacturing or similar operational team.
• Strong people‑management and team‑development skills.
• Experience of day‑to‑day production scheduling and resource allocation.
• Practical experience of warehouse operations and material flow.
• A genuinely hands‑on approach and willingness to be actively involved in the operation when required.
• Forklift experience is essential. Experience operating a Bendi truck would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• A track record of improving processes, efficiency and working practices.
• The ability to work effectively across technical, supply‑chain and customer‑fac­ing teams.

Experience in
low‑volume, high‑value manufacturing, lighting, furniture, interiors or electrical products
would be advantageous.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being close to the operation, managing people and solving practical problems, while bringing greater structure and control to how products move from components through assembly to finished goods.

Hours:

Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (40 hours per week), on‑site
