About the JobWe are seeking a highly motivated Echo Technologist to join our team. The role involves providing patient care support at the practice and ensuring the quality of studies adheres to established standards. This position can be per diem, part time, or full time. The per diem role has 1–2 shifts per week; the full time role requires 40 hours per week.
The Echo Technologist will report directly to the supervising provider or his/her designee.
- Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds
- Perform cardiac pulse and continuous wave ultrasound doppler to identify and characterize intracardiac blood flow patterns
- Perform stress echocardiography
- Apply knowledge of equipment, standard tests and procedures, and typical readings including arrhythmias and abnormalities
- Recognize, report, and treat potentially lethal arrhythmias and other patient reactions
- Identify common equipment errors and corrective measures
- Modify procedures/positions to obtain correct results with patients with complicating conditions
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) – required
- At least 2 years of working experience as an Echo Tech
- BLS/ACLS Certification – required
- Preference for candidates with both Echo and Vascular experience
- Strong interpersonal skills to put patients at ease and explain procedures in understandable terms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail to notice abnormalities in sonograms
- Hand‑eye coordination to adjust the transducer based on the screen images
- Technical and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work well under pressure, including emergency situations
- Strong teamwork and collaboration with the medical team
- Solid medical knowledge, including anatomy, for proper imaging
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
You will work out of the Londonderry, New Hampshire office.
