Overview

Kiewit Engineering Group is a full-service consulting and engineering firm serving infrastructure and engineering markets with expertise spanning transportation, power, water/wastewater, mining, building, and oil, gas & chemical markets. Our Power district focuses on EPC delivery for power facilities and offers services including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management and plant services.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to design the conceptual aspects of large power projects.
  • Formulate technical specifications and prepare interface points with construction partners. Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with other project personnel, perform bid evaluations of equipment and construction proposals, and develop recommendations for contract award.
  • Prepare electrical engineer designs, including layout, design schematics, calculations and conceptual design; utilize standard methods and project principles.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, maintaining an understanding of departmental design standards, applicable codes, and Kiewit guidelines, providing suggestions as needed.
  • Collaborate as part of a large project team with in-house inter-discipline engineers and construction superintendents to deliver industry-leading engineering and design solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or university and EIT license.
  • At least 3 years of experience performing power engineering duties.
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations and introductory programming coursework; ability to use electrical department design software tools.
  • Experience in field construction or startup power plant work; previous experience directing junior engineers is desirable.
Location

This position can be based in Lenexa, KS;
Lone Tree, CO;
Houston, TX;
Raleigh, NC;
Phoenix/Tempe, AZ;
New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. For roles in Chattanooga, TN;
Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in-office arrangement once the new office is established.

  • Ability to work during normal operating hours with overtime or weekend work as required.

Compensation

Base Compensation: $103,000/yr - $108,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to education, experience, skillset, and location)
